Designing Lost Sol: Mallorca 

Every design has a story. For Lost Sol that story began on the island of Mallorca.

Our very first towel design was inspired by Marisa’s many trips to this Mediterranean escape. She had always been captivated by Mallorca’s blend of golden beaches, sandstone buildings and the relaxed energy that fills every corner of the island. It felt natural that Mallorca became the starting point of Lost Sol’s design journey.

The Spark of Inspiration

Mallorca is more than a destination. It is a mood. A place where time stretches long under the sun. Mornings belong to market strolls and evenings fade into slow sunsets over the sea. Its sandstone villages framed by palm trees and bougainvillaea give a warmth that lingers. The deep blue of the water invites a sense of freedom that is unforgettable.

When we began shaping the Mallorca towel we wanted to capture not just the island’s colours but also its feeling. It needed to reflect a life lived outdoors and a style that carries from the beach to the streets.

Building the Moodboard

Our first moodboard drew on the pieces of Mallorca that spoke to us most:

• The terracotta of rustic villas and winding streets

• The oranges and reds of tapas and local life

• The rich greens of cactus gardens

• The deep blues of the sea and sky

Together they created more than a palette. They captured the energy of Mallorca in summer.

From Mood to Material

We decided on two Mallorca towels each with custom typography that gave people a way to express their personality through the towel they chose. Bold colours and simple lines reflect the balance of serenity and vibrance that defines the island. The design had to feel like more than a towel. It needed to be a piece of Mallorca that could travel anywhere.

Mallorca was our first towel and our first step on a journey of exploration.
